April 11, 2017 – For more than 25 years, Modern Design Cabinetry has honed its reputation for designing, building and installing fine custom cabinetry. With the introduction of its new Select Series, high-quality Modern Design products are now suitable for an even broader range of new construction and remodeling projects.
These new semi-custom cabinets are still designed and made right here in the Twin Cities Metro area and installed by the same Modern Design install crews. But by narrowing options and streamlining the design process, Modern Design is able to offer them to contractors for about 10 to 15 percent less than its fully custom cabinets and millwork.
“Sometimes, semi-custom is the perfect fit for a standard space or tighter budget. With the new Select line, we now can serve clients who want the Modern Design quality and service at a lower cost,” Modern Design President Troy Eiden explained.
Select Series offers efficiency and savings
The biggest difference is that Modern Design “Select Series” cabinets are limited to frameless cabinets with white melamine interiors. Choose from 10 door styles, five crown molding styles, eight collections of knobs and pulls and an extensive choice of paint and stain colors. All cabinets include soft close hinges and drawer slides.
Select Series customers can benefit from the support of Modern Design’s interior designer, Amber Ranzau. In addition to Amber, Modern Design has eight job supervisors/draftsmen who work with clients from start to finish and provide computerized drawings for client approval.
“With our main line of custom cabinetry you can get whatever you want from face frame cabinets and inset doors to exotic wood species, unique hardware and special finish treatments,” Troy observed. “The Select Series should make specifying cabinetry, faster, easier and an exceptional value.”
Modern Design is able to offer the Select Series because it continues to invest in machinery and upgrades to expand the production capacity of its Cologne shop. The latest enhancement is its conveyor finishing line with drying oven for durable baked on finishes.
Small shop quality with big shop capacity
Troy noted that some smaller cabinet shops are just two guys who are great woodworkers, but with limited capacity. Other cabinet shops are factories suited to high volume and long-distance shipping.
“Modern Design’s mission is to excel in the middle where we offer Minnesota contractors and designers personal service, high-quality cabinets and the capacity to meet deadlines,” Troy said.
