KBIS 2025

KBIS 2025 Recap: Our Key Takeaways

Last week, Amber and Nichole had the opportunity to attend the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas, and let’s just say — it was huge! With over 124,000 industry professionals at the show, the convention center was buzzing with excitement, making it the largest KBIS they’ve experienced so far.

If you weren't able to attend, don’t worry — Amber and Nichole are here to share their key takeaways from the show:

1. Reeded, Beaded, and Textured Surfaces Everywhere!

Textures were all the rage at KBIS this year. From walls and cabinetry to tile, the use of reeded, beaded, and textured surfaces was prominent throughout the show.

3. Organic Shapes are Taking Over

Incorporating organic, flowing shapes into design is trending in a big way. We saw these natural forms in lighting, backsplashes, cabinetry, tubs, hoods, cooktops, and sinks. This trend was everywhere and brought a fresh, softer, and more welcoming vibe to the kitchen and bath spaces on display.

5. Purple & Burgundy are the New Power Colors

While neutrals are always a staple, it was refreshing to see vibrant pops of color — particularly purple and burgundy (and some orange!)— all over the show. It was fun to see color making such a bold statement at KBIS!

KBIS by the Numbers:

1,200+ kitchen and bath vendors

46,000+ steps our designers took over 3 days at the convention

124,000 people attended KBIS & IBS combined

Wrap-Up

What an amazing show! From design trends to cutting-edge products, KBIS 2025 has left Amber and Nichole inspired and eager to bring some of these fantastic ideas into the MD showroom. Stay tuned for more exciting updates as we integrate these trends into our upcoming projects!

2. Scalloped Details: A Design Trend You Can’t Miss

Scalloped details were a standout feature, showing up on everything from hardware to lighting to wall panels and cabinetry. Nichole was particularly taken with a scalloped toe kick (see pic) – a small detail can add a bit of charm to any space.

4. Warm Earth Tones: A Nod to Nature

Warm, earthy tones dominated the palette at KBIS, with rich, inviting hues like terracotta, clay, and deep browns making a strong showing in tile and other design elements. These tones were often paired with warm wood accents like walnut and white oak. Amber and Nichole were especially excited to see that many of the colors showcased were similar to those recently introduced in the updated MD Color Collection!

6. Form Meets Function Meets Beauty

It’s not just about looking good anymore; it’s about making sure designs are functional too. Amber and Nichole came across some fantastic kitchen organizers they can’t wait to incorporate into the remodeled MD showroom. Some of their favorites included:

  • A rotating corner cabinet that seamlessly switches from closed storage to open display.

  • A new, improved drawer spice rack to keep everything organized and accessible.

  • Slim lift-up door hardware for a sleek, modern look.

  • A magnetized peg drawer bottom, which eliminates the need for unsightly peg holes while keeping everything in place. (Amber’s favorite)
