Seasons Greetings

As we step into the 2024 holiday season, what are some of your favorite traditions or activities to enjoy during the holidays? Here is what some of our team members cherish with family friends.

  • Nichole: Cutting down our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas cookie day and oyster stew.

  • Brian: My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. Getting together with family, eating great food, telling great stories, and not dealing with the stress of presents. Its all about being thankful and spending time with loved ones.

  • Joe: We like to drive around and look at Christmas lights.

  • Brandon: Spending time with family.

  • Rachel: Going to the apple orchard thanksgiving morning to get pies!

  • Mike: Getting together with extended family for Thanksgiving.

  • Rodrigo: Going back home to Mexico.

  • Stephen: Recently, getting my kids involved with decorating and setting up the tree with them as well as introducing them to the classic Christmas movies.

  • Keith: Lefse and Lutefisk - Love lefse and hate lutefisk!

A Splash of Color Along the Mississippi

The homeowners on this project, located along the banks of the Mississippi River in St. Paul, have great art, style, and a love for color! Nor-Son was their custom home builder of choice and together, we created a unique home that is 100% a reflection of this dazzling couple. The kitchen is painted in Benjamin Moore’s Pacific Rim and soft white Cambria was used on the counters, backsplash, and hood for contrast. The homeowners love of cooking and keeping things Kosher was the driving force behind the kitchen design. With the open floor plan, we had room for a working island and a serving island, which suits the space nicely. Everything has its place in this kitchen!

Throughout the home, you’ll see a mix of colorful cabinets, large windows to show off the beautiful view of the river, stunning art pieces and lighting, as well as pops of color in the furniture. Generally, the walls, trim, and flooring are more muted to let the other features shine!

There are two offices in the home, one for him and one for her. Hers is painted a stunning purple, Kismet by Sherwin Williams. This color matches her large walk in closet and separate master bath (not pictured). Her office keeps her tidy and inspired with the closed storage on the bottom and open storage on the uppers. The colorful wallpaper adds another punch to the room. And again, same as the kitchen, Cambria counters soften the bold cabinets and provide a durable surface.

Playing with color is always fun, especially when there are homeowners that are up for the challenge! We hope the two of them enjoy their custom home for many years to come!
