Welcome to Modern Design, the custom cabinetry shop preferred by Minnesota’s most demanding remodelers, builders and designers. Not only do we work with professionals, we also provide the same high-quality service to individual customers as well. Modern Design creates top of the line custom cabinetry for both residential and commercial settings. As a premier cabinet maker in Minnesota, our imagination and expertise have produced award winning results. We have been designing and building custom cabinets for more than 28 years and our experienced team is here to help you every step of the way. We believe in providing every customer with our full array of services which includes creative design, quality construction, multi-step, custom finishes and professional installation. Our design team will work with your plans and ideas or if you prefer, we can share some of our own. We have on-staff interior designers to help with selections, and your project will be assigned a job supervisor to ensure that it turns out exactly how you envisioned.
Within the last year we completed an 18,000 square foot addition that brings our state-of-the-art facility to 43,000 square feet, one of the largest custom shops in MN. With the new addition comes new equipment to allow us to better service our customers; no job is too big! Our shop features a new 5 Axis CNC Router, Beam Saw, Rip Saw and Storemaster Picking System. You may not be familiar with this type of shop equipment, but it provides new ingenuity, better precision and increases our ability to complete jobs in a set time frame. Our new addition also provides a conference room with a large screen television for viewing plans and ideas, builder and client meetings and staff meetings. Even with the shop expansion and conference room, we also added additional show room space. Our complete showroom boasts several different vignettes that complement the capability of our shop. No matter your style, transitional, contemporary, painted or stained, we can design, build and install it for you.
